Anna Hansen, from Sweden, has played the violin since the age of five and is a recent graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama where she gained a Master of Music in 2006. Anna's violin teachers have included Ruth Crouch (associate leader SCO), Clive Lander (former leader ENO orchestra), Jacqueline Ross and Marat Bisengaliev (internationally virtuoso soloist). She especially enjoys playing in orchestras, and was leader of the Nordic Youth Orchestra for three years. Anna has played the baroque violin since her second year at the Birmingham Conservatoire, where she took her music degree (BMus with Hons) in 2004. Her teachers have included Dianne Terry, Nicolette Moonen, and Ruth Slater. Recently her baroque violin playing has involved playing with the Dunedin Consort and the Vadstena Academy Orchestra as well as a one month long tour of Sweden with her baroque trio. Anna also has a great interest in teaching, running her own thriving private teaching studio as well as working for North Lanarkshire Council and RSAMD Youthworks. Anna recently performed Brahms's Double Concerto with her brother Pelle Hansen at a concert in Sweden. |
